The Recently-Independent Virologists Retreat (RIVR) 2024 will be on Jan 9-10th 2024 (date changed!) in Liverpool. Booking will open in the next week or two.

This reflects my feelings. eLife is a great journal & made many innovations to try and address issues in peer review. But ultimately eLife papers are respected because being accepted was a sign of significance. Why change that? We already have plenty of pay-to-publish journals!

New @UKCICstudy-supported research from @cardiffuni has provided the first demonstration that antibody responses specific to the nucleocapsid protein can improve viral clearance of SARS-CoV-2.
