Great name
Introducing the Starlight X. Available to order May 30th $179 💫 The SLX features our first new shape in 11 years. More stability. More control. A shape built for games like Counter Strike. TMR-DS ™ . Our all new TMR Dual-State analog click system. With actuation control in increments as small as .01mm. And rapid trigger capable. TMR-DS reads the moment your finger commits to the click, reducing click latency by up to 35ms compared to other mice. No added weight you can feel. Just .24 grams for the entire system. All new construction and material results in our lowest density mouse ever. (And our strongest). Weighing only 38 grams. Developed with aerospace vendors, our new carbon fiber super-composite combines remarkable stiffness with a density of less than .9g per cubic cm. That means it can float on water. A wireless system built to perform at the highest level with groundbreaking new technologies; PerfectPolling ™, PerfectSync, the Nordic nRF54LM20. Achieving an XLAT verified end to end latency of 223us. A new custom sensor built exclusively for the SLX. The Finalmouse F1. A new chassis design utilizing; graphite coated titanium screws, a unibody maincage, carbon fiber beaming, and shell openings strategically placed to avoid hand contact. 💫 finalmouse.com

In our conversation with @PhilipJohnston, CEO and Co-founder of @Starcloud_, we dug into how the operating costs of space-based data centers could end up being much cheaper. Terrestrial data centers pay for land, deal with years of permitting, and rely on batteries backup power because solar is intermittent and goes through the atmosphere. In space, none of that applies. No land cost. No storage needed. And solar panels can run almost continuously at much higher efficiency. The biggest barrier is the cost of actually launching the satellites into orbit, which is getting cheaper every year. Do you think data centers in space can actually work? The Moon fundamentally changes the game for manned space exploration. It is a next-level proving ground where astronauts can build habitats, harvest propellant and minerals from the lunar surface, and learn the skills necessary to go onto Mars.

Note the Y axis is log scale. Solar will eat the world. Space solves its biggest weakness - intermittency.

Thanks to @calebwrites0101 for the nod in his latest video! Btw, Caleb: $11.21/W is just the list price. Still amazing for small constellations. Large constellations and datacenters get volume discounts while allocation remains. youtube.com/watch?v=mHKGP5TA…

By 2030, data centers could consume more than 10% of all U.S. electricity. That’s a grid-breaking load, not a rounding error. Enter the Galactic Brain powered by the sunlight in space. washingtonpost.com/climate-e…
