Recovery-oriented housing is essential and overdue in BC
The NDP remains stubbornly fixated on pushing wet drug dens across British Columbia, ignoring the pleas of local communities who desperately want dry, drug-free recovery housing instead.
In Nanaimo, residents and council members are raising their voices loud and clear for recovery-oriented housing at the BC Housing-owned Terminal Avenue site. They know the truth: these facilities must be drug-free and tackle the root causes of crime, open drug use, fires, and public safety disasters plaguing our neighbourhoods every single day.
Enough with the failed NDP experiments that enable addiction and chaos. Dry housing would finally give those fighting to get sober a genuine shot at rebuilding their lives away from the drugs, while protecting families, businesses, and entire communities from the fallout.
It's time the NDP stopped doubling down on ideology and started listening to the people they claim to serve. British Columbians have had enough of this dangerous nonsense.
