FEEL GOOD FRIDAY: Tampa Electric team members spent National Foster Care Awareness Month giving back to Tampa Bay kids.
In support of Hillsborough County Children's Services' Duffels of Dignity program, our team packed duffel bags, blankets and hygiene essentials for children entering foster care and emergency placements across Tampa Bay. Small comforts that make a big difference during life's toughest transitions.
To everyone who stepped up: thank you for showing what community truly looks like.

Grateful for another productive meeting with the @CareerSourceFL Board of Directors last week at @MDCollege.
Workforce development is constantly evolving, and one of the things I appreciate most about Florida’s workforce system is the willingness of our partners, board members, and local workforce development boards to stay agile, forward-thinking, and focused on solutions.
Last week’s discussions reflected that commitment. From strengthening employer engagement and expanding apprenticeship opportunities to advancing Workforce Pell implementation and aligning workforce and education strategies, our focus remains on ensuring Florida is prepared to meet changing workforce demands while supporting businesses, job seekers, and communities across our state.
I’m especially thankful for our Board members, whose thoughtful leadership and strategic guidance help shape how we serve Floridians every day. Their commitment to employer-driven workforce solutions, accountability, and long-term economic competitiveness continues to strengthen the work of our network.
As we prepare for a new fiscal year, we have ambitious goals ahead. We will continue building stronger connections between education and employment, enhancing support for businesses, expanding pathways to high-demand careers, and ensuring Florida’s workforce system remains responsive to the needs of a growing and dynamic economy.
Thank you to @MDCollege and President @mdcpresident for hosting us and for showcasing innovative programs that are helping prepare the next generation of talent for Florida’s future.

From expanding apprenticeship opportunities and supporting employer engagement to advancing workforce education initiatives and strategic investments for the coming year, the Board took action on priorities designed to help Florida businesses find talent, support job seekers, and strengthen communities across the state.
Among the discussions were updates on Florida’s WIOA Combined State Plan Two-Year Modification, the new Workforce Pell implementation, employer-focused workforce strategies, and investments that support workforce training, rural initiatives, veterans, apprenticeships, and other critical workforce priorities.
Thank you to @MDCollege and President Madeline Pumariega @mdcpresident for hosting this week’s meetings and showcasing innovative programs that are helping prepare talent for Florida’s future workforce.

Preparedness is a cornerstone of success. I spent the morning with CEO Archie Collins and his team touring the new Bearss Operations Center, and @TampaElectric is certainly on point when it comes to efficiency, demand forecasting, and preparedness to keep the Tampa Bay region powered and electrified. Thank you to the dedicated men and women working behind the scenes every day to keep our community running strong.
This month, our Tampa Electric team members teamed up with Tampa Fire Rescue for hands-on training using our Live Line Demonstration Trailer — bringing real-world electrical hazards to life.
From downed power lines to hidden dangers at fire scenes, the training helps first responders stay sharp when it matters most.
We're proud to work alongside first responders to strengthen safety in our communities and help protect lives.
