Oriel Chambers, Water Street, #Liverpool. Designed by Peter Ellis and completed in 1864. Considered the world’s first building to feature a metal-framed glass curtain wall, a revolutionary technique that influenced modern skyscraper construction. It had its critics on completion, though:
"a vast abortion which would be depressing were it not ludicrous" and "a kind of greenhouse architecture run mad."

The US and Ukrainian presidents had a "very productive discussion", according to a White House official.
