16 June 1972. David Bowie’s landmark concept album Ziggy Stardust and The Spiders From Mars was released in the UK. The iconic album cover photo by Brian Ward in monochrome and colourised by Terry Pastor was taken in London outside the furriers “K. West”.

Queen relaxing in the sun during rehearsals for the Sheer Heart Attack tour, September 1974. Photo by Japanese photographer Watal Asanuma. Just a few weeks later, Killer Queen would hit the airwaves and completely change their lives forever. Did you purchase Sheer Heart Attack when it first landed in record shops back in late '74, or get to see them live on that specific tour? Let’s hear your favorite early tracks and memories in the comments! 👇

Congratulations to minnows Cape Verde for their World Cup draw with Spain, despite only having 25.8% possession. Mind you, that's almost exactly the same as Arsenal managed in the Champions League Final v PSG. I guess that's the kind of possession that minnows end up with...

Elvis Presley comforting his father, Vernon, on the front steps of Graceland on the afternoon of August 14, 1958. 🖤 Photographer Snooky Lawson caught this private moment, and it shows a side of the King of Rock 'n' Roll that the public rarely saw—just a heartbroken young son mourning an unimaginable loss. Elvis’s beloved mother, Gladys, had passed away from heart failure earlier that morning at just 46 years old. Elvis was stationed in Texas doing his basic training for the US Army when she fell ill, and he had frantically rushed back to Memphis on emergency leave to be with her. After she passed away at the hospital, Elvis and his father returned to Graceland to face the reality of the loss together.
