Well ‘ Anti-boomer’ what would you have him do ? The level of illogical, knee jerk reactionism expressed by some trolls (like you) is truly unbelievable. Carney has expressed sympathy and carried on doing his job taking action to protect the country.
We just had a terrorist cell murder a Canadian police officer and Mark Carney decided he shouldn’t cancel his next vacation to France with taxpayer funded in-flight catering. This self-absorbed scumbag is not a leader.

We gave him the authority to protect Canada’s best interests and most of us believe that involves shifting some alliances. He isn’t there to do the bidding of ignoramus pundits.
Who gave Mark Carney the authority to reorganize Canada’s alliances, loyalties, and trade agreements, or to steer us toward a European style new order? Who does he think he is? He’s supposed to manage and protect Canada’s existing institutions, history, alliances, and interests not act like he owns the country. Canada isn’t his personal project, and he shouldn’t be able to do whatever he wants. F@@k him.

Where did he call it a cohesive counterweight? It is a partial hedge against the impetuous decisions of dangerously unpredictable US leadership. Stop gaslighting.
He can't be believing what he's saying, right? U.S. dominance comes from not only headcount but also productivity, capital markets, military capacity, and a single, unified economic and political system. Canada, Ireland, and the EU are not a single country, don’t share unified fiscal policy, and don’t act with one voice on foreign or economic policy. “Similar GDP” is also misleading. The U.S. economy is far more integrated, innovative, and risk-tolerant, with deeper capital markets and significantly higher per‑capita output than most of Europe. Culturally, the U.S. still sets the global standard in media, tech platforms, and entertainment distribution. Europe and Canada have produced great content, but their global reach for that content is far more limiting (some of it due to their own domestic regulations.) Argue for closer cooperation across the Atlantic? Sure. But pretending it’s already a cohesive counterweight to the U.S. is wishful thinking, not serious analysis. If you would have thought one person would know that, it would have this "smart businessman/central banker" guy.

The solution for Britain - maybe the the solution for North America ? Just moving to ranked ballot could help. More elegant proportionate rep systems would likely work - possibly better - but let’s get off the FPTP system which seems toxic economist.com/by-invitation/…

So let’s get this straight. You agree Canada is a stellar partner for trade & you want us to make that obvious case to your president? How about YOU make that obvious case to your president & ‘offer’ to kill the ridiculous tariff regime which hurts everyone & screwed things up?
🚨 WATCH: Ambassador Pete Hoekstra says that the United States doesn’t need ANYTHING from Canada

Oh come on ! We need the US to stop the tariffs. That is what we want the US to do. Go back to the enabling environment for the most successful trade relationship in world history.
Interesting...it turns out the US has invited Canada to expand its cooperation but hasn't heard back yet on what it wants to do. US Ambassador to Canada Pete Hoekstra: "We've been invited Canada to be a partner in expanding and growing all of the areas that we cooperate in today. Expanding parts of our economy: agriculture, energy, transportation. Yes, even autos, steel, aluminum, and defense. Look forward to going through the negotiations on some of the issues that we're talking about. We're waiting for Canada to respond. But once Canada clearly outlines its direction and what it wants from the negotiations, I think that we can do some great things together." It seems like Canada is holding the progress of this negotiation? 🤔

More inconvenient facts for the gaslighting trolls. Will they ever learn that at least a few people will not take sweeping statements at face value ?
Mark Carney as head of the Bank of England advised against Brexit. How did that turn out. In 2008 didn't Harper congratulate Carney for a job well done during that economic crisis. He gave him an Order of Canada for his efforts

Agree this was an inflection point of sorts but the PP party loyalists are not conservatives as we might have known them.
The Freedom Convoy was the inflection point where conservatism, under @PierrePoilievre shifted from traditional "law and order" principles to anti-institutional, anti-elite rhetoric and #altright populism. #cdnpoli

He definitely gets my vote for A-hole in chief!
Kory Teneycke on Pierre Poilievre's economic attacks: I think you want to be pointing this stuff out but with sadness and regret, with a solemn tone ... right now it looks like Poilievre is applying to be A-hole in chief.

Throw stones from glass houses much Pierre?
Just so we are clear. Pierre Poilievre voted against the national school lunch program. Voted against $10 a day childcare. Voted against dentalcare. The leader of the opposition spent double than the Prime Minister of Canada did. This should be investigated.

Having Liz Truss -arguably the worst PM in recent UK history- criticize Carney - should be taken as a ringing endorsement of our PM to voters with actual sense.
Any time Libs back Carney, show them this. Carney was "disastrous" for the UK. Truss attributes the country heading for bankruptcy to his tenure as Bank of England Governor.

Poilievre's "full blown recession" rant has caught the attention of Donald Trump. Hoekstra also believes this puts America 🇺🇸 in a position of power. Poilievre lied but the White House is running with it. POILIEVRE just FKed up our CUSMA negotiations, Unbelievable

Apparently Pete Hoekstra doesn't like this cartoon and wants it REMOVED from X.
Met with @chantierdavie CEO James Davies today. Davie’s work to build Arctic Security Cutters for @USCG in Galveston is important as Arctic competition heats up. They’ve got the track record to be a good partner for Arctic security.

Fun Fact: In the House of Commons, cleaning staff (and all other Parliamentary employees, contractors, and volunteers) are required to undergo and clear a strict security screening process before they can work in the Parliamentary Precinct. But not @PierrePoilievre #cdnpoli
