I have closely followed the #NottinghamInquiry and have been truly disgusted in the conduct of "professionals" and those in positions of power throughout. Cover up after cover up. Dismissal after dismissal. Passing the book, failure to speak up, failure to act with decorum, empathy and candour. Professionals acting with everything but professionalism whilst bereaved families and victims were sat in the room! Why are we continuing to see these patterns? Because this is the culture within our country! A police force who tried to prevent the media from reporting on their failures, professionals who deemed that a dangerously violent man was so "calm and kind" that he was fit to live amongst us, and in turn those failures enabled him to violently attack time and time again, and eventually - murder and attempt to murder. As a society, we need to start calling this out for what it was - Barnaby Webber, Grace O'Malley-Kumar, and Ian Coates were murdered. This was not diminished responsibility! How can we accept that his conviction is safe when our judicial system is so corrupt! If the .@NowHillsborough Public Office Accountability Bill, had been passed last year, as it should have been, it would have been in full throttle throughout this inquiry. But it wasn't! I call on .@KeirStarmer to stop the dithering! Get this Bill complete. YOU are the Prime Minister. This is YOUR pledge to fulfill! Look these families in their eyes and tell them what the delay is! I also call on the .@attorneygeneral to pick up speed and complete the task in hand! Why are we now 6 months on and still awaiting this amendment issue to be resolved? @CoatesMania @coatesaholic @MrsEmmaWebber @drsanjoykumar and their families deserve justice. Each delay is a stain on the memory of every loved one lost, every survivor who speaks their truth, and every individual left behind in sheer devastation and disbelief that those who should have protected them, let them down in the most unimaginable ways! @catkinson80 @NickTorfaen @ShabanaMahmood @DavidLammy @YvetteCooperMP @JohnHealey_MP #HillsboroughLawNow
Nottingham attacks inquiry reveals 'every agency failed', says victim's mother Emma Webber says the families want to speak with the PM, attorney general, home secretary and justice minister

Seems really simple to me. Immigration laws do need changing/tightening, but rioting is never the answer. If you’re walking down a road setting fire to cars and you stop when you are told it’s owned by a white person then I’m sorry, there’s only one word to describe you.

Who is the biggest cult hero of the last decade at Anfield: Origi or Matip?

Divocks career has to be one of the oddest ever. Averaging around 1 in 5 everywhere he played, didn’t click at any other club, yet despite not really suiting the way Klopp played he scored a host of the most significant goals of the era, and tortured the blues. Proper cult hero

Also. Iraola had the opportunity to do the funniest thing ever and announce that he’s just off to Ibiza for a couple of months before he gets started.

Over the last 36 hours, we have witnessed the very soul of Nigel Farage — his essence. It has been over a month since he went into hiding, since serious questions began to be raised over his undeclared £5M donation. A month since he appeared in front of TV cameras or underwent any questioning at all. At 8am yesterday morning, Farage released a video, from a field somewhere, calling for rage. Calling for an end to the mythical two-tier policing. Make no mistake, those were very carefully chosen words — he understood what he was unleashing, and his wish was granted last night in Southampton. On Tuesday, the Home Secretary made a statement to the House regarding the murder of Henry Nowack. There was, as always, an opportunity to question Shabana Mahmood — was Nigel Farage in attendance? No, of course not. Today, Farage was granted a question at PMQs — the showpiece spectacle of the political week in which the country's news and politics fanatics tune in to watch — was Nigel Farage in attendance? Yes, of course he was. He had somehow found his way into work after missing 77 separate votes in Parliament because … he would, at least for three minutes, be the centre of the country's political attention. His question was about the murder of Henry Nowack and the violence that erupted [on his command] last night, but he would not condemn it or call for calm. Instead, he 'suggested' that this rioting might escalate. This afternoon, he has performatively written to the BBC because someone on Newsnight dared to accuse him of inciting the violence — playing his perpetual victim card. Again. And there we see the soul of Nigel Farage — a craven, desperate for attention, evil, petty and pointless man. END RANT.

Yeah, the type who shut down replies rather than be open to conversation and scrutiny. Figures.
Farage may well have been outnumbered in the Commons this morning, but outside he speaks for large chunks of the country. 🇬🇧

It’s a massive stepup and a risk, but LFC are a massive club so it would be a step up for most. Interested to see how brand of football translates to 3 games a week and facing low blocks, but he must have been asked that and given assurances. Keen to see Iraolas reds in full flow

Final thoughts on Arne. Looks like some of the ‘negatives’ had substance (engagement with youth, relationship with squad), some didn’t (the time off), on balance it’s the right call. But his open letter shows he’s fundamentally a really decent guy and should be treated as such.

People moaning he will leave for free, but surely this one is right? Ibou gone, Bradley out and 2 young CBs. Even if we got £20m for Joe are we really going to get someone who can play RB or CB to his level for that amount? We absolutely need him next season
🥇| @JamesPearceLFC: Joe Gomez is expected to stay at Liverpool for the final year of his contract.

Slot brought us title 20, the start of last season was heavily impacted by the tragedy around our No. 20 and ultimately it was decided the 20 defeats was just too much. Mad coincidence that so much centred around one number I suspect he won’t be looking at FC Twente in a rush

As Eze walked up to take his pen, I said to my lad I’ve just had a really strong feeling that he pulls this wide to the left. Honest to God, I don’t think he’ll ever look at me with more respect than he did about 20 seconds later. I peaked as dad in that moment.

The fears that some have about us becoming United are valid, but I don’t think we are there yet on the basis of making 1 change. The next appointment is absolutely massive though, has to be right.

The other factor with Slot is that he may have been the right man when he took over, but the job/pressures changed hugely in yr2. His tactics weren’t unknown, the pressure of being champs, expensive big name signings, etc. Possible that was just a step too far for him currently.
