We knew this was a problem since the 12 day war last year, over 150 interceptors were spent in that period — roughly 15–20% of global arsenal.
This was always my argument from the start: the actor with levers over Iran benefits from the war continuing — and controls the materials needed to end the stockpile problem.
The Pentagon's own 13 critical materials list — published the day before strikes began — runs entirely through China and most are already under export restriction. The US can't simply refill.
