I just want to know, why ?
The Denver Broncos’ coaching staff owes the fans a direct answer: why have they refused to use Marvin Mims as a true wide receiver when he’s shown elite talent?Mims has only dropped one pass across two full seasons while catching 61 of 85 targets. He creates 4.5 yards of separation per target and ranks among the league’s best in separation rate. These are not gadget-player numbers — these are top-tier wide receiver numbers. The common excuse that “he can’t run routes” is completely hollow. The Broncos have barely put him on the field to run routes in the first place, constantly using him on jet sweeps, reverses, and screens instead. You cannot fairly claim a player can’t do something when you refuse to give him the opportunity to do it or coach him in that role. This becomes even harder to defend when the team traded a first-round pick to go get Jaylen Waddle, a similar speedy receiver, while leaving Mims — who was already on the roster and performing efficiently — stuck in gadget packages. The coaching staff needs to explain why they chose to spend high draft capital on a new receiver instead of developing and featuring the talented one they already had. They’re wasting a proven asset and costing the offense big plays. The question is simple: why?
