We have united to oppose the building of 2000 houses on local farmland fields, which would put a huge strain on the environment (inc an SSSI), roads & services.

It’s time this sort of biodiversity vandalism was outlawed and made uncomfortably expensive if you’re caught doing it.
300 trees in ancient woodland felled before planning permission was granted, the only word for it is crime. But the developers will apologise, pay a meagre fine and continue on their way. yorkshirepost.co.uk/news/env…

If you’re worried about building on green belt land as we are - send this to your local councillors. #Greenbelt #Housing #Nature
How to stop Government harming nature (but still solve the housing crisis): our NEW councillors' toolkit. Please send it to your local councillor and ask them to read it. Councils are starting to push back on unsustainable housing targets, so they will not be alone. communityplanningalliance.or…

Cardiff Morrisons praised for providing nesting seagull shelter in 30- degree heatwave ☀️ A Morrisons in Cardiff has gone viral after creating a make-shift shelter for a nesting seagull. Staff covered the mother with a bedsheet, coned off four parking spaces, and gave her fresh water and food. The Lesser Black-backed Gull, which is said to nest in the same spot of the supermarket’s carpark each year, is being well-looked after in this heatwave. Well done @Morrisons 👏.

🌲Kew warns climate change is killing trees, echoing what we heard in our adaptation inquiry. As the heatwave shows, trees are vital infrastructure for cooling, so adapting nature to extreme weather is essential.🌲 thetimes.com/uk/london/artic…

This new Wildlife-Rich Habitat Fund unveiled by the government. Token schemes like this are pointless. Wildlife can't flourish in isolated pockets, especially when its "build, baby, build" policy is destroying everything else. gov.uk/government/news/wildl…

British pollinators. What a workforce ! Without this amazing team there would be no gardens or food for that matter. We must do our best to look after them, teach our kids they are friends and build habitats to show them how loved they really are.

Speaking of YIMBYism, I wrote to Steve Reed after developers paid £2,000 a head for curry night seats. Homeless kids can’t pay to be within whispering distance of his ear. That’s how inequality gets baked into our democracy. Deep pockets = more access. Ban developer donations.
Daily reminder that YIMBYism is about the self-interest of well paid graduates, not solving the housing crisis for those stuck on waiting lists. Your value isn't based on your wage. Labour must reject this grotesque social cleansing nonsense and build 000s of council homes.

Please - no more housing around #BullockWoodSSSI - there is already too much negative human encroachment @NaturalEngland and it’s causing so much potential damage like this camp fire.
