Why would MasterCard want Bitcoin to succeed as money? Why would Western Union? They don't. They saw a dragon they couldn't kill and decided to make it a pet.
So they paid the devs who kept the blocks at 1MB. They kept the fees high. They wrapped it in custody products. They listed the derivatives on their exchanges. They paid the developers who told you blocks could not get bigger.
And they marketed "hodl and do nothing" to a generation that thought scarcity was the product.
The product is your inability to transact.

I’m not American, and it still wouldn’t matter. If there were a person in the role of Satoshi, every government with a flag and a bureaucracy would eventually try to lean on that person. The Americans would. The British would. The Australians would. The Chinese would. Everyone would, in their own style, with their own language, and with their own excuses about “security,” “stability,” or “the public interest.”
That is what states do. They apply pressure where pressure can be applied.
And that is exactly why Bitcoin matters in its current form: there is no one left to pressure. No founder to summon. No central figure to threaten, flatter, shame, bribe, or regulate into “just one small change.”
None of that applies to the protocol.
No person, no pressure point. No pressure point, no leverage. No leverage, no governance theatre.
Just a fixed system that runs.

It has already led to a war we should never have fought, that not only has deprived us of the blood of 13 Americans and the wounding of 330 others, but now has cost yet another combat aircraft, on top of the others that have already been destroyed, our bases that have been devastated throughout the region, and now skyrocketing oil prices that threaten to throw our economy into a recession.
All of that – every bit of it – was self-inflicted and should never have happened, but did because President Trump listened to the advice of people like this podcaster.
Nevertheless, I’m grateful that she’s choosing to elevate this to the public eye, so people can see what their own eyes who is giving President Trump good advice, and who is giving him deadly bad advice.

Trump is trying to tell us that war is peace after he started the Iran War for Israel.
Trump saying "Peace through strength" at a time like this is insulting the intelligence of the American people.
This war is clearly escalating and spiraling out of control. This is not peace. And we don't look strong.

If there was an imminent threat from Iran, Tulsi’s answer would have been: yes. It’s as simple as that. She wouldn’t have tied herself into pretzels with the ridiculous claim that only a President can determine that. She literally puts out an annual threat assessment.
