During an outbreak, what does “contact tracing” mean? A newly released disease agnostic practical guideline, helps to strengthen public health responses during outbreaks by defining essential terms. This guideline kicks in after diagnosis, when the risk of transmission begins. It empowers health workers, governments, and public health officials with the tools to carry out more effective contact tracing. Built on lessons various outbreaks, it provides clear definitions and strategic recommendations to improve response efforts globally. Today, NSF faces proposed budget cuts of more than 50%, threatening the innovation, talent, and global leadership the U.S. has built over decades. To ensure another 75 years of progress, Congress must protect the NSF and invest in America’s scientific future. #SaveNSF
