Recovery happens in community—and that includes the workplace. I joined the Maryland Department of Labor for its inaugural Recovery Friendly Workplace Convening to hear how employers across our state are helping reduce stigma around substance use disorder and creating supportive environments for employees in recovery. Thank you to Maryland’s certified Recovery Friendly Workplaces for leading by example and helping build a stronger, healthier workforce.

Honored to join Gabe Ortis for the very first episode of Baltimore In Focus. We talked about my journey from immigrant to engineer to Lieutenant Governor—and how those experiences shape the way I approach leadership, infrastructure, public health, and opportunity in Maryland. From rebuilding the Key Bridge to tackling the overdose crisis with data-driven solutions, this conversation was about what it means to lead with both compassion and problem-solving at the center.
