Reflections, 9 Dec
This judicial review was about demanding a proper consultation based on a very narrow point of law.
We are deeply disappointed the judge was not able to rule in our favour, but it is important to note that the judge did not vindicate the DfE's actions. 1/
Just catching up with yesterday’s @CommonsEd session about the academies section of the Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill. Some comments raised an eyebrow or two, so some thoughts to follow.
'Dan Moynihan deserves £1,000,000 a year for what he’s done. [Trust CEOs] are heroes and heroines and deserve every penny.'

Last accounts of Holland Park School 2021/2022 show a reserve of £3,258,000 with ‘no significant key factors that are likely to affect the Academy’s financial performance or position’.
I am now hearing that the school has over spent by an estimated £1,700,000.
Let us fix that for you*
We are delighted that our Chief Executive, Louisa Mitchell, has been awarded an MBE in the New Year Honours List for 2024 in recognition of her “services to children and young people (*unless they went to Holland Park School)
Turning: up to 40k
Erasmus: 52k
So you're really excited to see a reduction in the numbers of students who’ll have the chance to study abroad compared to those who went under Erasmus?
What about the 100% of young people who could work in any EU country before Brexit & now?
Chilling stuff
Many of us at Holland Park School despair as we witness the systematic erasure of what was unique and special about our school.
@UnitedLearning is our Big Brother but that’s how it works.

Ofsted's à la carte inspection of Holland Park was a politically motivated farce designed to facilitate its transfer to United Learning? Everyone involved in that 'operation' should be ashamed of themselves and Ofsted should be restructured from the ground up.🧵👇🏽
@StopTheMATness
The lead inspector, Jude Wilson, also inspected Holland Park School in April 2022, deeming it "inadequate"
The report noted that "currently there is little provision for design and technology courses". But Wilson ignored the fact that no students at Michaela study DT at GCSE
No concept of conceptual and creative thinking. Neuroscience and neurodiversity is producing great results to propel our thinking forward. Why not stop 🛑 and have a re-think? 💭 - Better still, let those who CAN think this way restructure our education system.
And here she is again, showing her true colours in praise of regressive not progressive anything
Who puts these troglodytes and box tickers into positions of power over our children’s lives?
In this week's column I argue that our education system is not only failing to prepare children for the massive and rapid shifts - environmental, technological, social - they are likely to face, but is actively de-preparing them.
Plus short thread.
