After five phone attempts to query @TfL Auto Pay taking money with no explanation, I finally reached a human who then sent me to an automated service asking what day I wanted to pay for!!! Beyond frustrating.

Finally got resolution from @TfL via its online chat facility hidden deep in website. Statement process is madness in comparison to other comparable services.

COUNTDOWN TO WINTERBOURNE DAY 4: ⏳THE LEGISLATIVE HOSTAGE It's been six months since the Mental Health Act received Royal Ascent. So why is nothing changing? 🏛️ The Government is hiding behind a "switch on" clause. They refuse to enact the reforms until community support is "sufficient," but they haven't funded a roadmap to get us there. It's an empty promise designed to buy them time while we lose ours. 🕒 This is an inadequate response to a 15-year-old crisis... and let sbe honest... its decades longer than this!. We don't need more legislative excuses; we need a funded, transparent roadmap. 🗺️💳 #MHA #LegislativeReform #MentalHealthAct2026 #Winterbourne15 #NothingHasChanged

On May 31st, it will be 15 years since the Panorama documentary about the abuse at Winterbourne View. Yet, despite all the promises, reviews and reports, it seems as if nothing has changed since then. The human rights abuse continues and there is no accountability. Rightful Lives will be marking the 7 day countdown to the anniversary with a series of short videos with @AQuinnUnbroken. Alexis will talk about the situation we are all in now and what needs to happen for change. The first video will be on 25th May. #Winterbourne15 #HumanRights #NothingHasChanged @DanielHewittITV @Rebeccasmt @RachelSkyNews @ianbirrell @JayneMcCubbinTV @Saba_Salman @IzzyAldersonB

Two week reminder to fill in the Timms review into PIP. I know we have been through countless consultations but it WILL be worse if we don’t push back and it’s vital those in MH respond as we are a key target and our organisations tend to be tamer. tinyurl.com/3h56djf7

NHS BRIBED THE WRONG DOCTOR Dr Kim Holt (@drkimholt) was the designated doctor for children in care at St Ann's Hospital in Haringey. In 2007, she and three colleagues sent a formal written warning to Great Ormond Street Hospital (@GreatOrmondSt) management. Staff shortages. Poor record-keeping. A disaster waiting to happen. The response was not to fix the clinic. It was to remove Dr Holt from her post and place her on four years of special leave. When she refused to go quietly, the hospital offered her £80,000 with a gagging order attached. She turned it down. After Baby P died, the offer went up to £120,000. She turned that down too. Six months after her warnings were ignored, a locum with no experience of the clinic examined Baby Peter Connelly. The signs of abuse were there. They were missed. Two days later, the child was dead. The NHS Trust that ran the clinic eventually apologised. In writing. Four years later. Dr Holt went back to work. She framed the apology letter and hung it on her wall. She then founded Patients First to support the next generation of @NHS whistleblowers, because she knew there would be one. There always is. Sources: @guardian @BBCNews @thetimes @drkimholt

Trying to verify whether “Zak Syedmar” is a real Bristol resident and honestly starting to feel like he was assembled in a lab from leftover @WFLabourParty campaign leaflets. If anyone’s seen him in the wild, please report your findings. @WFConservatives @wflds @WFRGreens

Today a group of autistic young people and adults, parents/carers, leading researchers and clinicians, and charities, is launching a new public policy report.   A New Path Ahead makes one core point: that to genuinely improve lives and outcomes for autistic children, young people and adults, governments across the UK must invest in systemic change, addressing the deep barriers faced by autistic people which have been present for decades. Without this, attempts to shift public services to a needs-led approach will fail.   The report is timed to inform the Independent Review into Mental Health Conditions, ADHD, and Autism and any subsequent response to the Review from the Government in England, but the recommendations are for all governments across the UK.   The report, two-page summary, and easy read version can be accessed at: autism-alliance.org.uk/a-new… Do read this @wesstreeting @SKinnock @zubirahmed

So @wesstreeting @skinnock @zubirahmed. Have a read of this from 2016. It’s about autistic people and people with learning disabilities locked away in psych units like St Andrews. We’ve had endless meetings with people from @DHSCgovuk, @NHSEngland and @CareQualityComm in the 10 years since then. We’ve given evidence to @CommonsHealth and @HumanRightsCtte. We’ve written blogs, run an online exhibition and campaigned endlessly. And nothing has changed. Nothing. Isn’t it time now for a politician to actually do something? theatuscandal.wordpress.com/…

Can you assures us @wesstreeting that these patients won’t be moved to sites that were previously closed because they were unsafe, but that have subsequently been used by commissioners? We know of at least one.
Replying to @Rebeccasmt

I don’t have a lot to say this autism awareness month considering I’m sectioned in hospital, but what I would like to know is why so many autistic people have to end up unwell and in mental health hospitals, and when that is going to change.
