We were honoured to host Senior Counsel Elisha Ongoya for a guest lecture with our Key Legal Skills 2026 cohort on the theme, “Key Legal Skills That Make One Stand Out as a Law Student and a Legal Professional.”
Drawing from his experience in legal practice, SC Ongoya challenged students to continue developing the skills that distinguish outstanding legal professionals. He emphasised the importance of critical thinking, effective communication, advocacy, legal research, professionalism and adaptability in an ever evolving legal landscape.
We thank Senior Counsel Ongoya for taking the time to engage with our students, and all students and faculty who attended and contributed to the session!

The Notre Dame Exoneration Justice Clinic (@NDLawEJC) hosted a welcome picnic yesterday for this year’s cohort of students joining the EJC’s summer internship program, which begins today. The cohort includes law students from Notre Dame Law School, @StrathmoreLaw in Kenya, and @UNAM_MX @DerechoUNAMmx, as well as undergraduate students from @NotreDame and @StOlaf in Minnesota. The students will work on wrongful conviction cases while gaining hands-on experience in criminal justice advocacy.
