Sometimes the hardest words to say are the most important. By having more open conversations, we give people the chance to express how they feel and get the support they need. It could even save a life. 💚

🤩 A powerful example from UHNM about how thrombectomy changes lives. Great to visit the stroke team there today to update them about SPEEDY. Together we can show how the NHS can increase these amazing outcomes 🙏🏻
Time is brain: Timely intervention prevents a certain death.
A doctor from another hospital collapsed while working with a life-threatening basilar stroke. Was airlifted to @UHNM_NHS and was rapidly deteriorating and probably moments away from respiratory arrest and irreversible brain damage/death. Thrombectomy performed in a timely manner and patient made a complete recovery within 24 hours and discharged home. Nice of them to come back with a thank you card and a box of chocolate. @UHNMCharity@TheStrokeAssoc
