After a fantastic Stuart History Festival weekend, we would like to say a big THANK YOU to the 10 speakers and our sponsors @BoWSociety & @orlandmedia.
Also to Mike Beddoes, our livestream producer, and festival partners Philippa Lacey-Brewer & Jackson van Uden.
I am deeply grateful to the historians who've lent their support and endorsed Zealous.
Thank you for helping me bring this book out into the world. 📚 ❤️ 📚
Further to yesterday's Stuart Saturday... I visited the Margaret Clitherow Shrine in the Shambles in York this morning. The shrine also recognises Thomas Thwing, a 17th-century martyr who was executed in October 1680 following the "Popish Plot" fabricated by Titus Oates. I try to come here every time I visit York.
Hear ye! For #StuartSaturday, please share some pretty Stuart or 17th-century things today. We're all down with Covid at my place, so could do with some lovely images and/or music! I'm currently listening to '17th-Century Music for Canto & Basso':
