The collective amnesia / blindness from the Scottish media towards the UK state scandals is quite something: HS2 (>£70bn over budget), Track & Trace (£35bn), COVID scandal (£bns), Expenses scandal (4 MPs & 3 peers jailed). There's a chance that these all passed Kevin McKenna by🤷‍♂️
'You simply can’t overstate how much damage this has done to Scotland’s international reputation and to the entire independence movement' 👇

The UK is actively involved in this military conflict. We’ve spent more than £100M of UK tax cash over the last 10 years. I didn’t hear about this via our media, but from a taxi driver who had taken a mercenary involved to the airport. The UK media priorities 🤔

This position is utterly ludicrous! In Scotland there have been 2 of these cases - both with people stealing from the independence movement & both have been sent to jail. The UK establishment saw billions embezzled during COVID, yet not one person has had a criminal conviction.
People want devolution because it brings power nearer to them. That is hard to argue with. But the Peter Murrell case shows that devolution makes corruption likelier. In Westminster, it would have been impossible to get away with so much for so long. MPs are not ethically superior to Scottish MSPs. It is just that, in Westminster’s intensely competitive political and media atmosphere, Murrell-like behaviour could not escape notice. Think of the relatively minor corruption of Sir Keir Starmer and colleagues by Lord Alli’s suits and wellington boots. This was exposed almost immediately after Labour’s massive 2024 election victory. Public support was at its peak, yet Labour lacked the power to suppress the story. ✍️ Charles Moore Article | spectator.com/article/devolu…

It is simply not the case that 250 people pay 60% of all the income tax in Scotland @SirTomHunter. This is a false claim that should be corrected. Here’s why 🧵
“We can get 250 people in a room at Gleneagles who are paying 60% of all the income tax in Scotland, and then we've got Ross Greer saying, “tax the rich”” On Sunday’s episode of The Go Radio Business Show, Sir Tom Hunter and Lord Willie Haughey reacted to the Sunday Times Rich List, wealth creators leaving Britain, and why they believe Scotland needs more entrepreneurs, not fewer. Watch the full episode now on Go Radio’s YouTube channel or wherever you get your podcasts. 🎧 In association with @BarclaysHampden

HS2 will now cost £102.7 billion, and won’t open until 2039. It was once held up as the project that would unite the Union 😀

I have zero interest in the “abandonment” conversation. Celtic won the game and the league. I have plenty in the fact said game ended because of the antics of supporters. And how on earth we got to this point. Not good enough. theguardian.com/football/202…

Was watching the game with my dad today. He was at the games in 1965 (Tynecastle v Killie) & 86 (Dens) - sadly his wait goes on to see the Jambos win the league. Celtic fans of the equivalent age no doubt enjoying their 37th title over the same time period…

Clear and obvious
Those who questioned the integrity of Sam Nicholson owe the boy an apology. The @MotherwellFC player swore on his kids life that the ball didn’t strike his hand. This new video clip is the clearest evidence of that. I’m looking at you @shebahn @chris_sutton73

Wes Streeting just told the Scottish people that he isn't giving us a referendum on independence because there is too much UK chaos! He's at it obvs, he wants to hold onto Scotland because he's power hungry, & Scotland has a wealth of power! youtube.com/shorts/daCSN1Au_…

Jings - Starmer mentions independence. But only 'energy independence'. Excellent first question as new WM leader by @DaveDooganSNP. But now SNP needs a strategy to disrupt WM's energy theft not just nod it through.

Based on the image, the headline and the subhead - this front page seems to be a pro independence (real change) message. Therefore asking for a vote for the SNP. Cool. We definitely can’t afford more time in the dysfunctional UK.
🚨 The Daily Record urges Scots to vote for change after 19 years of SNP Government. “We can keep Reform out and send a message to the hopeless SNP that Scots deserve a better, brighter future.”
