Exciting news! USTC’s Environment/Ecology discipline has officially broken into the ESI global top 0.1% in the latest ESI data by Clarivate. With this achievement, #USTC now has 21 disciplines ranked among the ESI global top 1%. Among them, Computer Science, Environment/Ecology, Physics, Chemistry, Engineering, and Materials Science all rank in the ESI top 0.1%, with the latter three reaching the elite top 0.01%. Founded in 2019, the Department of Environmental Science and Engineering leverages USTC's strong foundations in science and engineering to address pressing environmental challenges through both fundamental research and technological innovation. Supported by three national and provincial research platforms, the department is advancing work in areas ranging from pollution control and environmental remediation to climate and sustainability studies.
