The scalloped edges and cryptic colouring of the Comma's wings conceal hibernating adults amongst dead leaves, while the larvae bear close resemblance to bird droppings!

As I settled into this role I made a list of changes to make and one of them is to close this account down shortly because there is too much overlap with the @BC_Suffolk account. Sightings through the website are still very welcome.

I shall be adding another tweet or two in the next couple of days with a view of closing down at the end of the month to coincide with the end of the season (apart from occasional sightings).

Please take time to read this. There is a map showing Suffolk's nature sensitive areas, none of which are now safe, it seems. They are biodiversity havens, often home to endangered species. Please read Tweet 12 also and consider letting your MP know that this is unacceptable.
