Very excited to highlight a new review paper led by our PhD student @c_meinhausen with @AricPrather and Dr. Sumner on the role of sleep in the link between PTSD and cardiovascular disease (CVD) in Health Psychology. doi.org/10.1037/hea0001143
Sleep disturbances have also been linked to CVD risk. Specifically, hypertension and inflammatory processes in the body are highly sensitive to sleep disturbances and can contribute to the development of CVD.
To date, research examining sleep in the context of the PTSD-CVD link has been largely unexamined, so this paper outlines recommendations for future research. Findings from these studies may eventually be incorporated into clinical practice.
So excited to have been able to submit my very first poster at the @ISTSSnews#ISTSS2021 meeting! Our project examined associations between #PTSD and #coping using a "symptomics" approach
Very excited to see how the #ISTSS2021 meeting is coming together! We have a great set of presentations and training opportunities focusing on broader contexts and trauma. There’s still time to register and get the early-bird rate! istss.org/reg21

New paper! We outline our protocol for our @nih_nhlbi funded R01 on #PTSD symptom dimensions and markers of early #cardiovascular risk. Our lab managers @ShilohKCleve and Kristina Reed did a great job of leading this paper! bmjopen.bmj.com/cgi/content/…
