It's not entirely wrong but I kinda hate when people talk about X-2 as JUST that, because there's also a very good story with darker moments in there.
There's just a lot more silliness than in most FF, particularly X which is heavy most of the entire way through.
X-2 gets a bad rap but honestly its a bubbly musical adventure that's full of magical girl vibes and romantic af. A time capsule of the 2000s, a reminder that FF can be silly and unapologetically fun. It's very sincere with its campiness and invites you to just sing and dance.
