Another great @gcouros quote “Rather than approach Ss with a deficit mentality, we must look for and build on their unique strengths and talents and help them acquire the skills, knowledge and mindsets they need to see themselves full of possibility.” #innovateinsidethebox
Looking for supports for cyberbullying that are easy to incorporate into hybrid teaching environment. Ss are online for first time(previously very limited devices). Situation escalating in middle yrs @gcouros @JCasaTodd @tanisdc @ajjuliani

To all my teacher friends starting up again today - you are the real heroes. Be bold, be brave and be kind. Do what you love to do, even if it’s different than before. Our kids need you.

Great idea for student voice! #mltcedtech
Ive always been intrigued by our students lens, observation & perspective of the world. Before we closed I had our art teacher paint these boards with the same question I had seen posted around different cities & wanted our students to participate to help amplify their voice

A lot of teaching and learning was designed out of convenience. It’s convenient to: 1. Deliver live lectures 2. Require every student to work at the same pace 3. Grade students on completion But convenience rarely leads to transformational change. Now is the time to innovate.

Love this sentiment, and am a huge #STEM proponent, but shouldn’t all curriculum be connected to the real world, without requiring an acronym to be attached?

To all my Canadian friends- While I am very happy to see people engaging in the difficult conversations around race, please don't spend all your time reading about US racism. We need to resolve our problems here too, and you can't do that if you are focused on the States

Kids and adults learn by doing. Sitting through long lectures are not what pushes people towards mastery. Long lectures are both an inefficient use of time and plain boring. As you plan professional development and student learning experiences, prioritize purposeful work time.
