FYI: Since 26 April 2024 we have stopped using Twitter/X because we think Elon Musk, the owner of this platform, is a climate denying fool, and we do in no way want to support his business.

Replying to @lindayaX
I’m guessing that they are boycotting X because you and Elon have turned it into a shit show of misinformation, racism and idiocy. Wake up and look around, @lindayaX. You’re bleeding money, and advertisers, because you have no moderation.

Seriously, you're going to wake one morning in the 2050s in a home warmed by your wind powered heat pump, open the dividend from your solar farm share, ride to work on an electric bus passing fields of agroforestry brimming with wildlife, and wonder what all the fuss was about.

Must we sit and watch them die Its only a dried up muddy pool that needs water Imagine what a few flying machines of water dropped could do/ But its not a priority for any country or global elite

The biggest mistake the green movement is making is not focusing on the media. The public don’t understand. These numbers are an underestimation IMHO. Hardly anyone I know really understands how serious and imminent disaster is. Only the mass media can change that. Once enough people really understand their kids probably don’t have long term futures at thus point, they would demand action
Genuinely terrifying. The scientific consensus on human caused climate change is as strong as the one that agrees that smoking causes cancer and that (left untreated) HIV causes aids. It’s not understood by the public because of the deliberate decades long misinformation campaign from the oil industry: youtu.be/I32R6Yx9PTI?si=NYeT… As Oxford university states, there is no doubt: ox.ac.uk/news/2021-08-09-oxf… NASA: science.nasa.gov/climate-cha…

FYI, when ‘providing for our kids’ means a corporate job, a big mortgage, a bigger car, plastic wrapped animals, endless disposable tat & flying round the world, the thing we’re actually providing them with is a collapsed society on an inhospitable planet.

The most important news anywhere - as reported nowhere.
One way to see just how truly "gobsmackingly bananas" North Atlantic sea surface temperatures are right now is to remove the "less anomalous" year 2023 from the graph. This just looks impossible in real life.

Mainstream climatology and climate policy is increasingly fanciful. Meanwhile emissions rise. Some of us admit it and try to help each other prepare. That upsets those experts cloaked in the prestige of Imperial Modernity, who demand we submit to the Gods of tech and elitism.
