If keen to develop image-based measurement methods and work on an interesting experimental mechanics challenge in cryogenic temperatures, then it'll be great to see your applications to join the research group this autumn.
A new PhD scholarship opportunity is now open to join the Team working with @arora_lab. This project is focused on digital image correlation (DIC) measurement method optimisation for materials testing at cryogenic temperatures. swansea.ac.uk/postgraduate/s…

VR lab #2 using @gravitysketch with @SwanBioMedEng yr2undergrads. Great to see some of the students really getting to grips with using VR for concept development. @DrWillHarrison I think they are giving our mech students a run for their money! Healthy competition 4 next semester
Great to have @GilesLloydBrown from @SUSciEng library give a master class on information searching for our yr 2 @SwanBioMedEng students. I look fwd to some well researched design briefs!
Busy day for @SwanBioMedEng students; straight into VR using @gravitysketch after info. gathering lecture. Students engaged really well with the VR headsets from @SwanseaVR department. I'm not sure any other BioMedEng/Eng courses loan headsets to each student! @SUSciEng 1/2
Buzz teaching @gravitysketch live from a VR headset; workflow: teach some of the tools, then students practice, then headset back on, stream to big screens, and same again! Works well. More interactive than videos. The future is #immersive#3D @SUSciEng @SwanBioMedEng@SwanseaVR
Going to have x50 @SwanBioMedEng year 2 students learning @gravitysketch loaning VR headsets this semester. They have just collected the headsets! Thanks @gravitysketch for the loan sets to help us achieve this.
Super delighted to welcome my research collaborators from China - Associate Professors Zhang (Nanjing University of Science and Technology) and Wu (Suzhou University of Science and Technology) to @SUSciEng. 1/2
