I will take a dying Kubernetes cluster over a corrupted database any day. You can replace Redis before lunch. You cannot replace the source of truth. Protect your substrate.

I am pleased that this successful grandmother-based activation worked. Looking forward to more promising projects with ChatGPT.
ChatGPT just gave me a Windows 10 Pro key for free. and somehow it actually worked 😂

Seventy percent sounds generous. The code I have reviewed suggests the figure is even higher.
Hot take: 70% of devs still struggle to explain the difference between Call by Value and Call by Reference without stumbling.

Anyone know of any beautiful images that relate to computational ideas? There are tons of beautiful things from continuous mathematics, but I'm struggling on the more computational side. Bonus points for things relating to PL concepts, e.g., lambda calculus, type theory, etc.

Spent 1.5 hours cleaning my fridge. Spent even more time solving this problem. I'm so dumb. I made so many stupid mistakes on this simple problem.

Did you know that reading from memory can be cheaper than reading from some CPU registers? While updating the linux-insides, I noticed that the kernel reads cr4 and stores a shadow copy in a per-CPU variable. Why cache a CPU register in RAM?

I attended the farewell reception hosted at the residence by the Ambassador of Germany to Azerbaijan, Ralf Horlemann. During his time in our country, Ralf Horlemann did not limit himself to fulfilling his diplomatic mission; he also managed to sincerely integrate into Azerbaijani society. His openness, simplicity, and closeness to people were among the key qualities that distinguished him. It is important to highlight his contributions to the development of Azerbaijan–Germany relations during this period. He truly connected with the Azerbaijani people and left behind a positive and lasting impression. Ralf Horlemann is now retiring. I wish him all the best in this new chapter of his life. I am confident that wherever he may be, the sincere relationships he has built here will always remain valuable to him.

A single glance from the wrong person can reveal more than you think. Whether you're in the office, classroom, airport, or café, protecting your screen is one of the easiest ways to prevent data leaks and identity theft. Cybersecurity isn't always about complex tools sometimes it's about simple habits.
Hello Cyber friends, always protect your screen and avoid exposing sensitive information. Simple actions can significantly reduce risk 💪

$14 trillion spent while emissions break records. We brought these issues to the fore at COP29. Real frameworks matter more than unchecked budgets.
Climate campaigners tell you green is cheap It isn't Global green transition cost is now $14 trillion, rising with over $2 trillion/year (2% of global GDP) 105x our spending to avoid hunger Still, CO₂ emissions set another record last year assets.bbhub.io/professional… You can see all the references in my Twitter thread: x.com/BjornLomborg/status/19…

I find it deeply frustrating when displacement is rebranded as 'justice.' I know how modern, warm, and hospitable Azerbaijan is. Real peace means safe return and direct dialogue-not dependency.

The EU calls this justice. I call it blocking people from going home. Azerbaijan is open for their safe return. That is real peace and real justice.
Access to justice matters! Thanks to the EU 🇪🇺 humanitarian support, @UNHCRArmenia 🇦🇲 provides free legal counselling and assistance to displaced people from Karabakh to Armenia. From documentation and pensions to housing and citizenship, they can access guidance when they need.

On June 10th, the LuxAz Center hosted a book exhibition and presentation featuring Musa Marjanli, a historian with a PhD, publicist, journalist, and the editor-in-chief of "IRS" magazine. The event showcased publications reflecting Azerbaijan's rich history, culture, and ethnography. Attendees had the opportunity to explore books dedicated specifically to the cultural heritage of Karabakh, Shusha, and Azerbaijan as a whole. We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Musa Marjanli for his valuable contribution to promoting Azerbaijani culture around the world, as well as to the team at the @AZMissionEU for their kind participation and support. #LuxAz #IRS #MusaMarjanli #CulturalHeritage #Karabakh #Shusha

I have long argued that there is no consciousness behind the weights, only a mirror trained on our biases. Granting legal personhood to AI is vendor lock-in dressing up for a philosophy lecture. It is clever theater, but I am not buying a ticket. Human primacy, always.

Interviewer: "So... what's the difference between @ Component and @ Bean? Don't say just one is class-level and one is method-level. Cover these points : 1. @ Component : Use when you wrote the class You simply annotate your class with @ Component. Spring will automatically detect it during component scanning. No need to manually define or return anything. Example: @ Component public class UserService { } Now Spring will auto-register UserService as a bean. 2. @ Bean : Use when you don’t control the class You define a method inside a class marked with @ Configuration You return the object you want Spring to manage. This is helpful when the class you're using comes from a third-party library or needs custom config during creation. Example: @ Configuration public class AppConfig { @ Bean public RestTemplate restTemplate() { return new RestTemplate(); } } Spring registers the returned RestTemplate as a bean. 3. When should you use which? If you're writing your own service or component use @ Component. If you're using someone else's class, or want to customize how the object is created use @ Bean. If you need fine control (like passing constructor arguments or changing config) go with @ Bean. Think of @ Component as "auto-register" and @ Bean as "manual register". Both result in a Spring-managed bean, but how they get there is different.

SpaceX has just officially unveiled its AI1 satellite, the first generation of its AI satellite. Overall Specs: • 150 kW peak compute payload • 120 kW average compute payload • 70 kW per ton • Compute provider interchangeable Dimensions: • Wingspan: 70 meters • Deployed height: 20 meters Thermal System: • 110 m² deployable liquid radiator • Redundant pumping loops • Integrated micrometeoroid shielding • Deployable liquid radiators Solar Power System: • 150 kW solar array • 250 W/m² • SpaceX-manufactured solar technology from Bastrop, Texas Architecture: • Centralized compute module • Large deployable solar arrays • Deployable liquid-radiator thermal management system • AI-focused compute satellite design ("AI1 satellite") Elon: "The AI satellite is much simpler than a Starlink satellite. The AI satellite is essentially a lot of solar cells, you still need some laser links, but you don't have all of the super complex antennas that you have on a Starlink satellite. The easier one to design for is the AI satellite. It's bigger. A lot of this is technology we've already made with the Starlink V3 satellites."
