This week, two school classes visited us and had the opportunity to get a insight into the research and work at the university, as well as our SynBio2024 project. 🤗👩‍🏫 We also explained important methods such as DNA extraction, PCR, and gel electrophoresis, allowing them to try these techniques themselves. 🧬🧑‍🔬🥼🧪It was wonderful! 🤩 #school #lab #visit #synbio24 #biology

Leaf infiltration is a widely used technique in plant science for delivering Agrobacterium or chemicals directly to plant cells 🍃🧬 For those who do it regularly, there’s a satisfaction in watching the liquid flow seamlessly through the leaf's airspaces—when done well..

I'll never get bored of this, lol. My phone cam does NOT do it justice. So very fuchsia. This specific line of my Alice petunia also smells like guava. Plants are so magical.

My second favorite mutation in A. thaliana goes to immutans 🌱 We’ve all seen variegation—the striking appearance of different colors in plant parts, often forming fascinating patterns. While several A. thaliana mutants show variegation, immutans is unique… 🧵
