Grateful to see the Mississippi House of Representatives working on this important issue. While I was Speaker of the House, we started the discussion on eliminating the income tax, and today that has become a reality. Now, we’ve started the discussion on property tax reform. As governor, I will work with the legislature and leaders like @JasonWhiteMS to deliver meaningful property tax relief for Mississippians.
This week, the House Select Committee on Property Tax convened to hear from the Department of Revenue and receive an overview of Mississippi's Property Tax system. This Select committee, Co-Chaired by Representative @tlamar44 and Representative @RepShaneBarnett, will examine all aspects of the Mississippi Property Tax system and work to find ways to reduce the tax burden on Mississippians. The Mississippi House of Representatives led the charge to eliminate the personal income tax in Mississippi, and we will lead the charge to reduce real property taxes and reduce car tag fees.

As MSGOP Vice-Chair & RNC National Committeewoman, I stand with my MSGOP colleague, Renee Dye, and for all strong Mississippi women against cheap sexist attacks. Imagine being a billionaire, a convicted felon, and a washed-up Democrat disbarred trial lawyer—for giving bribes to a judge, no less—and still finding the time to get online and mock a 22-year-old young woman from New Hope, Mississippi, my beloved, rural hometown. Renee Dye didn't grow up in gated communities or go to elite prep schools. She graduated from a rural public high school like I did and has just earned her college degree. She is smart, humble, hardworking, kind, and proud of her conservative values. Now she's chosen to serve her state, her party, and her country— and that apparently makes her a threat to Dickie Scruggs? This is who Dickie attempts to bully? Calling a young woman "toothy" and reducing her to her hair color isn't just sexist—it's pathetic. But coming from a man who built his empire suing people, bribing judges, and buying influence as a Democrat megadonor, it tracks. It's disgusting, it's sexist, and it's exactly what we've come to expect from a race-baiting relic who's spent a lifetime dividing Mississippians for profit and power. Dickie, you may see Renee as a punchline—but we see her as the future. We'll take a hundred more young women like Renee, no matter hair or skin color. Bright, strong, grounded, good-hearted, principled—and not for sale. 🇺🇸🐘

The @msgop is excited to have Renee Dye join our team as Executive Assistant for the Mississippi Republican Party. She will help support executive leadership, coordinate key events, and assist in managing the party’s day-to-day operations. A recent graduate of the University of Mississippi, Renee earned a degree in Integrated Marketing Communications with a minor in Business. While at Ole Miss, she was an active member of the National Society of Leadership and Success, Phi Mu Sorority, and served on the Student Alumni Council in 2022.  Prior to joining the MSGOP team, Renee worked at the Mississippi State Capitol, serving as Head Page for the House of Representatives. She also held the position of Project Coordinator for True Grit, a sandblasting, powder coating, and painting company, where she managed social media and analyzed project data to identify areas for operational improvement. A native of Columbus, Mississippi, Renee brings a fresh perspective, strong work ethic, and a deep commitment to conservative values and grassroots engagement as she helps our team advance the mission of the Mississippi Republican Party platform and shape the future of our great state.

The @AmericanFamAssc and @AFAAction filed a friend-of-the-court brief in the U.S. Supreme Court case United States v. Jonathan Skrmetti. The brief was filed in support of a Tennessee law that bans gender transition medical interventions for children. Twenty-three states have passed similar laws, and lawmakers from these 23 states joined AFA’s brief. On the opposite side, the @JoeBiden and @KamalaHarris administration has intervened in support of the plaintiffs challenging the Tennessee law. The Biden-Harris Administration is asking the Supreme Court to invent a new class of victims eligible for non-discrimination protection: children who are anxious and confused about their normal biological sex. That would be completely at odds with our constitutional traditions. It would essentially grant children a fundamental right to be prescribed drugs to change their natural, healthy bodies. As we argued to the Court, children don’t have the maturity to make such life-changing decisions. In addition, a person’s mental state, especially when they seek assisted self-harm, does not make them eligible for special legal protections that have only been applied to immutable birth characteristics like race and sex. A win in this case for the Biden-Harris administration would be very harmful to the rule of law. Under the direction of the Biden-Harris White House, federal agencies are recognizing dozens of sexual identity categories beyond those who experience ‘gender dysphoria.’ If the Court turns down the path of granting special rights to each of these new identity categories, longstanding anti-discrimination policies based on race and biological sex could be undermined. AFA and AFA Action are proud to stand with state legislators ranging from West Virginia to Utah to protect the nation’s children from the gender insanity pushed by the Biden-Harris administration.

Thank you, Speaker, for your service. Mississippi has truly been blessed to have your leadership. True servant leadership is rare these days. It’s been a privilege to see it up close.
Thank you, Mississippi, for allowing me the privilege to serve you as your 61st Speaker of the House. It has been one of the greatest honors of my life. #msleg #sinedie

The day so many prayed for is here. HB1510 is law and Roe v. Wade is no more. With love for children and the women who bear them, we move forward to secure strong and lasting legal protections and cultural support for life, and a vibrant network of abortion alternatives. 1/3

Today the House and Senate conferees signed a conference report that represents the largest tax cut in Mississippi history and puts us on the path to personal income tax elimination. It’s a great first step and a huge win for our state.

No politics, just math - for all of those who actually care about the factual differences between the House & Senate plans. Other thing to note is that Senate plan does not set into motion the complete elimination of the income tax & House plan does that through growth triggers.

MYTH: HB 1439’s extra 2.5 cent sales tax will cost me more than its income tax cut saves me. FACT: Single taxpayer making $50,000 saves $2,035 on income taxes. She’d have to spend $81,400 on items subject to the extra 2.5 cent sales tax to burn thru that savings. #msleg #HB1439
