"All societies require a foundation. It is not possible to build alabaster cities over the Void. This being the case, neither is it possible to build them over the Sinkhole of Secularism." Read the rest from pastor Doug Wilson here.

Douglas Wilson: "The prodigal son ran away from home for the high-flying nightlife. Prodigal America turned away from her God in the name of pursuing high-minded secularism, devoted to general decency all around, but without reference to any outside authority. We can be good in our own name, for our own sakes. And yet here we are, at one in the morning, in another dive bar, hoping that the Fed will buy us another round. But the lady at the other end of the bar seems nice. Says her name is Lola. Foundation Needed All societies require a foundation. It is not possible to build alabaster cities over the Void. This being the case, neither is it possible to build them over the Sinkhole of Secularism. It is actually not possible to build a cardboard shantytown over a sinkhole. The reason this inane secularism fraud lasted as long as it did was because it was sustained by the residual moral capital in our nation that the Christian faith provided. When that capital is finally exhausted (or rejected), what then? Well, you know . . . and this is just a suggestion . . . I merely put it forward . . . we are kind of finding out what that looks like in this, our current moment. And by “current moment,” I mean this mash-up of a Chinese fire drill and a cafeteria food fight in an asylum for the criminally insane, with an MSNBC anchor solemnly opining in the background how good it is to have the adults back in charge. That is our current moment. Our current moment will be far more concerned about my use of Chinese fire drill than it is with the fact of the actual Chinese fire drill..." Read the rest ⬇️

Amen. Great time. Even though Northern Ireland — like all the nations of the Christian West — is in the process of squandering our glorious inheritance, we serve the Father whose covenant mercy calls prodigal nations home. And they will come and the celebration will be glorious.
A blessed time for my first ever visit to Northern Ireland recently, speaking at the "Christ and Country" conference, alongside @j_bambrick, @TJSumpter, and @GJShearer. I'm encouraged by the faith and will of many of the young men there, who are catching a vision for their nation amidst God's plan for the nations and the advance of His kingdom, anchored in a faithful commitment to the Word of God and a renewed socio-political vision for God's glory. Pray for the Church and the nation in Northern Ireland. Many challenges lie ahead, but there is much hope too.

Fair number of sodomy-Pride flags in Dublin. But I walked by a door that was painted with the rainbow colors, and the next day I saw it being painted over (plain white). While it could be a coincidence, I take it as a sign that the LGBT strangle hold is collapsing everywhere.

The Christian Church is the most potent cultural-political force in the world. God’s people are the light of the world and the salt of the earth. The decline of the West is a direct result of the decline of the Church. The nations have been discipled by apostate churches.

"If you are placing all your hopes on marriage, if you think that being Mr. Husband or Mrs. Wife or finding Mr. or Mrs. “Right” is going to “complete” you and fulfill all your deepest longings and desires, @TJSumpter has got news for you...
On your wedding day, tons about you changes. It’s true. A woman takes her husband’s name. A man becomes responsible before God for his wife. You have to learn to live together. What you have taken for granted about many things in life, like how to fold socks or how to organize the pantry or when to get up in the morning or how to prioritize your budget – some or all of that probably changed. The day before your wedding you were a single man or a single woman, and the day after your wedding you were a wife or a husband. You had become one flesh. You had formed a new family. You had changed, and many things in your life changed. Like kids for example. That will change you even more. But here’s the thing: despite the massive, monumental changes that did (or will) occur after your wedding, there is something even more massive, even more fundamental that will never change. On the day before your wedding, you were a son or daughter of the King, beloved of God, purchased by the blood of Jesus, secure in His firm grasp forever. And the day after your wedding, you were still that blood-bought child of God, saved for eternity. That identity can never change, shift, or be affected in the slightest. And this is so important. You need to understand this deep in your bones because many marital problems arise from misunderstanding this. People say that their wife or husband “complete” them. They say they are lost without their spouse. They say there was a hole in their heart without them. And there is a sense in which that is true. I get that. Love is like that. And I thank God for it. But there is another sense in which those sentiments are actually all wrong. There’s a sense in which those sentiments can be pure idolatry. In other words, if you are placing all your hopes on marriage, if you think that being Mr. Husband or Mrs. Wife or finding Mr. or Mrs. “Right” is going to “complete” you and fulfill all your deepest longings and desires, I’ve got news for you...
