Seven batting titles, Rookie of the Year in ‘67, MVP honors in ‘77, 3,053 career hits, first-ballot HOFer, Roberto Clemente Award winner & an 18-time All-Star are but a few of Rod Carew’s career highlights. Saved his best for yesterday when he became a United States citizen!

Congratulations Ned! Every day you look at your ring think of not only 2020, but your own personal journey in this game with the countless memories and lifelong friendships established during those 14,360 days.
It took 14,360 days from the first day of my MLB career until today. That is a very long time. I am so honored to be on the receiving end of this symbol of a championship season put together by a team – a team of players, staff, executives, fans representing a city of Champions.
“A life is not important except in the impact it has on other lives,” Jackie Robinson said.
Jackie certainly left an impact on everyone in the baseball world and beyond. Today, on the anniversary of his 1947 Dodgers debut, we celebrate his incredible life and accomplishments.
Happy Birthday to 2014 Hall of Fame inductee Greg Maddux! Mad Dog’s mastery of the strike zone was complete, and he captured 18 Gold Glove Awards and four Cy Young Awards over his 23-year career. (Milo Stewart Jr./National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum)
A Cooperstown smile: Joe Musgrove's cap from his no-hitter and a ball from that game are headed to the Hall of Fame. Thanks to the @Padres for the photo - and thank you Joe!
"Obviously you always want to get into Cooperstown. That's what you dream about as a kid -- winning the World Series and getting into Cooperstown. So, having my cleats there, that's unfathomable to me."

Accomplished trio! Congrats to @Astro_Soichi on today’s spacewalk outside the International Space Station. Joined by @AstroAcaba, a veteran of three spaceflights himself. And of course, Mr. Ohtani! Three tremendously successful & distinguished gentlemen.
Today we remember longtime Mets PR director Shannon Forde, who passed away five years ago following her courageous battle against cancer. Shannon was a friend to so many and is sorely missed throughout the game.
