Today, I filed historic priority legislation for school safety. House Bill 33, known as The Uvalde Strong Act, will ensure the tragic mistakes made on May 24, 2022 at Robb Elementary are never repeated.

We want to extend our congratulations to Chief Stevens. He has a long record of service in both the military and civilian law enforcement most recently serving as Chief of Police in Rockport and prior to that in Lubbock.
Following a candidate search and interviews, the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) has announced Chief Gregory Stevens as its selection for the next agency Executive Director effective January 8, 2024. #TCOLE #TexasLawEnforcement #Congratulations
