Thank you @RachaelMaskell for your amendments to the Railways Bill. Transport workers face a deluge of abuse, assault and harassment. Tackling that must be a priority as we move into Great British Railways.
Good to see @SWitherdenMP in yesterdayās Railways Bill debate standing up for workers at Network Rail who are facing job losses ā and our members at Platform4, where we have been derecognised. The transition to GBR should have rail workers at its core ššš
Excellent from @AndyMcDonaldMP in yesterdayās Railways Bill debate. We need a just transition for workers into GBR that protects -
š·āāļø Jobs
š· Pay
š§ Pensions
š Travel facilities
ā Trade union rights & recognition
And that reinstates TU recognition agreements at Platfrom4!

At this meeting TSSA General Secretary @MEslamdoust specifically raised our deep concerns about job cuts at Network Rail (and infrastructure companies with which it has contracts).
Instead of cuts we need investment in our railways and the people who keep transport moving.
Positive meeting today between Labour's affiliated unions and Chancellor @RachelReevesMP.
We were pleased to hear Rachel recommit to deliver the manifesto commitments on Make Work Pay in full, and to work closely with unions to take on Reform.

TSSA held a parliamentary briefing for MPs on suggested amendments on the remaining stages of the Railways Bill.
TSSA supports public ownership but there must be a just transition for railway workers - no job losses, attacks on travel concessions or trade union de-recognition.
Yesterday, GTR transferred into public ownership. Whilst TSSA has long campaigned for public ownership of the railways & supports this move, our General Secretary calls on the government to protect workers' jobs, pay, rights & conditions.

Young workers' rents have soared, bills are up and wages still donāt cover the basics. If ministers are serious about tackling the cost of living crisis, they need to act now.
