✍️ In 2020 I applied for DSA, to ensure I received the support I needed to access my degree ❌ But from step 1, I found the system to be completely flawed ✊ @OxfordStudents must stand up for disabled students at every stage @TabouMagazine taboumagazine.com/new-blog/o…

As an @LSEnews student, I’d love to study in the new Marshall Building — but when I tried to enter today & yesterday, the wheelchair accessible door was locked. It’s been 12yrs since the Equality Act, & LSE still can’t wrap it’s head around disabled students entering buildings.
The first images of Grafton’s landmark Marshall Building for the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) have been released bit.ly/3rIj0pB

Everything in this thread by @chr0nicallycute captures the experience of many disabled students.
Let’s talk about ableism in education! [a thread🧵⬇️]: As someone who has graduated with a 2:1 in English at a Russell Group University and then proceeded to work in my student union for a year, I have experienced MANY barriers when it came to accessing my education.

It was brilliant for our Editor @_DanniWatts to get the opportunity to chat to @itslaurenrowles at todays ACCEPT event run by @Clifford_Chance - a great opportunity to learn about and discuss the often overlooked intersection between disability and LGBTQ identities.
