In 8th grade, I won an essay contest for an essay titled America and Me. I was 13 years old. It was about God, country, and patriotism. The rest of my essays that year were about Metallica. I grew up in a conservative household. My dad loved Reagan in the 1980s and absolutely hated the Clintons by the 1990s. I came up in the opposite of a woke world.
