Are you efficient with your dribble?
Can you attack a close out with either hand?
Do you handle with pace?
Do you dribble with a purpose?
Do you have a tight handle?

@Tabchoops proposal to the UIL Legislative Council to use a 35 second shot clock in tourneys during the ‘26-‘27 season, IF agreed upon by both coaches, CAN BE USED.

Players -
When I was a college coach, there were zero recruits whom I really wanted that I didn't call on the phone.
I often started with email/text, but always set up a phone call.
The Lesson:
If a coach isn't calling you, it's likely his/ her interest isn't high (yet).

There's a difference between attention and a coach actually recruiting you.
Attention can be a follow back, a camp invite, maybe a conversation or two.
Recruitment is multiple phone calls, campus visit, going to games, and clear next steps.

Fake offers don’t help you get recruited.
College coaches can usually see right through them.
They create unrealistic expectations about your true level.
Focus on real opportunities and finding the right fit, not collecting offers.

A lot of PARENT’S attitudes are blocking their kids’ blessings in recruiting. A call regardless of time frame , is better than NO call at all. Your child may need development anyway and that’s ok…. Entitlement leads to failure #NextUp 🫱🏽🫲🏾

As a former college coach, I can tell you coaches can spot a generic or AI-generated email right away.
Personal emails to schools that fit your level can help, but having someone call or text coaches on your behalf is still the best way to get your name out there.

Stop chasing schools that aren't chasing you. You can't force a program to recruit you. Focus on the ones showing lovego where you're wanted, not just where you wish you were wanted. That's how you win!

1️⃣ Stop posting “Recruiting Interest.” College staffs know where you stand. Means u have 3-5 prospects ahead of u. If legit, they’ll offer.
2️⃣ A preferred walk-on is NOT a commitment. Don’t market it like one. Coaches notice unnecessary hype & can be seen as drama.
3️⃣ If your goal is to play college ball, be at TABC (June 26-28). Exposure outweighs another AAU weekend. If your school isn’t attending, play with a neighboring high school #AlamoCityHoops #NEP #DontAtMe 💯

Last year 13 college staffs in attendance. 42 teams/6 courts. Local teams decided to leave out of state! How many college coaches were on their court 3-5 states away on court 23?
Some of yall coaches letting ego get in the way and then blame ACH for kids not getting recruited.
