I predict that from now on, Netanyahu will no longer boast about being Trumps/Americas best friend but instead boast about being the Israeli leader who knows when and how to say NO to the US, and this will also define a big part of the election campaign.

Qatar’s success in mediating the Iran war was a core competency built over decades as something inscribed in their constitution. By maintaining relations with rivals and earning trust across geopolitical divides, Doha became one of the few actors able to talk to everyone. Also, they have experience with parties in this war as Qatar brokered the prisoner swap between Iran and the U.S. in 2023.
This time it was particularly challenging as Qatar was caught in the crossfire of this war. This is why they made it a point they would not mediate as long as they were a targets and only joined mediation under Pakistan when attacks stopped. In this conflict, Qatar had powerful incentives to end it: preventing regional escalation (it paid a high price in this war), protecting Gulf security, and safeguarding energy export. It reinforced its role as the Middle East’s diplomatic broker while the threat was so close to home this round.

وأضاف ترامب : نحن نحتاج الى الطيران لمدة ساعة ونصف للوصول الى هناك وكذلك الأمر مع السعودية.
بمجرد ان تعبر خطا واحدا تكون هناك. انه في قلب منطقة عدائية بشكل لا يصدق وتحيط به أطراف مختلفة.
