I'm a writer. I write scripts. I have studied and worked endlessly on the craft. Now, I'm hearing I need to produce my own scripts? I have too much respect for filmmakers to pretend I'm a filmmaker, too. I can ride a horse. Don't ask me to give birth to one. "Neigh!"

Whatever sport, movie or commemorative event brings people together, I'm all for it. We need more joy in our world today. That reason alone is why I did not include a certain birthday celebration with a blood bath fight as its centerpiece on my "Let's Have Joy" list.

I'm not much of a sports fan. Reluctantly, I was hooked into watching the Knick's Game #4 by my boyfriend. He was so excited, how could I resist? I was going to cut out early, but stayed till the triumphant end. For Game #5: "Come on!" I said, jumping up & down. "It's starting!"

Joy is best shared. Call it love. It's mutual and life affirming.

A Canadian I know explained the polite rituals curling players practice before & after a game. To start, they wish each other good luck. When the winners emerge, they treat the losing team to drinks. How civilized! So when anger erupts at the US, trust that they have good reason.

You think the dialogue you write is perfect? Not until you hear it said by gifted actors. I think that's why I watch and re-watch my favorite movies and shows. I study not only their body language and micro movements, but also how they say their lines. Gifted actors are gold.

Regardless of how I feel I’m not successful enough - I created all of these whilst working full time and looking after my family. That alone makes me very proud ❤️❤️

Same goes for writers, only our paint is ink. When we see others selling their scripts and books, we may be tempted to write what we think will sell. But the truth is -- whether it's trite or not -- we're better off to write what we love. Take a lesson from Hockney.

I've been on twitter long enough to round up a healthy number of people to follow, many of whom are kind enough to follow me. But if you're wondering, as I am, why views & likes are zero to nil, it's because that pussy-footed trillionaire is pulling levers to suppress our tweets.

It's fun to have friends on twitter, those who share our interests. We get to know their likes & dislikes as their personalities flow through their tweets. We may never meet in person. It's still nice to have friends on twitter, a place we visit as if it were a bar called Cheers.

Of all the art I've been blessed to see on this platform, David Hockney's work always gave me pause. I'd gaze at one piece after another thinking, "How did he know the inner me?" Considering the outpouring of love for the artist after he passed, it's clear I wasn't the only one.
