Reading poetry is a great way for children to practice their English vocabulary, pronunciation and fluency. There are some wonderful classic poems for children, but I think the sillier poems, like this one, are the best ๐Ÿ˜ƒ #FunWithEnglish #englishforkids

I can't believe I've never taught a student the word "thingamajig". It's so versatile and every English speaker needs to use it at some point. What was I thinking? Incidentally, "thingy" and "wotsit" can also be used. "whatchamacallit" will be understood but it's a bit American.
whatchamacallit = what do you call it? In our own languages, we have a word or phrase we use as a substitute when we don't know or can't remember the word we want to use. I feel the same way about Spanish. Yet most days I have five year olds having entire conversations with me in English, their second or even third language.
After over 10 years of studying Japanese, I'm probably up to a moped.

If you're one of the many parents lacking the confidence to teach your child #English, remember that your #child will never love a teacher as much as they love you. Playing a word game or reading a story with you will make them happy, meaning they'll learn more.
