After exhaustive tests, we found that it's likely that HostGator (or possibly Launchpad where they resell domains from) backend DNS servers that tell the internet where your nameservers are located are somehow broken and responding intermittently. The solution... #hostgator #dns

... we found is to transfer your domains to another domain registrar ASAP and to re-register your private name servers. This doesn't just affect domains with private nameservers but all domains. We have spent 15 hours on this issue testing from different servers worldwide. #DNS

If @Rackspace had deployed @HuntressLabs threat hunting agent software on their Hosted Exchange Windows Server environment before they got hacked, it may have given them enough warning to save themselves. Companies take note. Huntress isn't even expensive.

The immediate solution to the @Rackspace Exchange outage is to immediately cutover to Office 365 directly. We recommend purchasing licenses from Microsoft directly. Migration of past emails from Rackspace is not possible at this time but will restore email service. #rackspace
