I want writers to know that solid-paying gigs are still very much out there. I mean many companies happily pay $500–$1,000 (and sometimes more) per project. These are clients who respect your rates and won’t try to lowball or haggle you down. Your job is to stop chasing every opportunity and start targeting those companies specifically

My long-shot leverage on tech will eventually land me in London. I know it will happen sooner than I expect.
London is becoming one of the most important places in the world to build technology. In the past few months, we've seen companies like @OpenAI, @AnthropicAI, @Lovable, @cursor_ai, @WeAreLegora, and @ElevenLabs continue to deepen their presence here. At the same time, London is home to incredible companies such as @synthesiaIO, @attio, @Recursive_SI, and @wayve_ai, while leaders like @_rockt, @demishassabis, and David Silver continue to push the boundaries of what's possible in AI. As an founder living in London, I don't take this for granted. The talent is here. The capital is here. The ambition is here. The opportunity isn't somewhere else. It's right in front of us. Get into the rooms. Build relationships. Ship products. Stay visible. And keep building.

Your first 10 clients will probably come from outbound marketing. Or submitting upwork proposals Your 20 clients should come from returning clients/retention, referral or recommendations. You spend less on marketing while still getting more quality leads You need the first for the second. Don’t jump the fence

You don’t win by being louder. You win by being clearer. ✓Clear on who you serve. ✓Clear on the problem you solve. ✓Clear on the value you bring. When people instantly understand you, you instantly stand out.

Unpopular opinion: Nobody can actually use the Fable 5 model as they truly want. Constraints: Benchmarks. Guardrails. Pricing traps.

Being great at what you do is important, but staying in the same place doing only what you’ve already mastered can sometimes keep you stagnant. I never want to stop learning, growing, or reaching for the next level.

Been far behind on the code aspect of my game because I spent 735 days writing content. Things are going to change soon; my GitHub contributions will reach over 5000 by the time I'm done with these projects. Back to building.

The gamut of my personal and professional growth is based on grit, gut, and gumption. I'm not susceptible to glamour or greed; I want to be great at the game. So I choose building long-term, chasing epiphanies, and refining my skill set.

Technical writing is the process of crafting clear, concise, and structured content (or documentation) to help users understand and use a product, system, or service. It involves bridging the gap between complex concepts and clear communication. Importance of Technical Writing - Clarity and simplicity: convert technical jargons into easy-to-understand content or documentation for users, developers, and stakeholders. - User support: helps end-users navigate products effectively. - Efficiency: reduces support queries, technical debt, and training costs. - Compliance and Standardization: ensures legal and industry standards are met.
What's technical writing??

Technical writing is still a hot cake. If you're not getting good gigs in tech writing, it's either skill issues or you're not evolving with the demands of the industry. My opinion.
I remember when technical writing was the hot cake in tech then. 2021-2022 days.

When I started my technical writing journey, it was @AdesinaAbdurah1 that I reached out to for guidance. I still remember everything he said to date. His recommendation on my LinkedIn profile gave me a lot of traction than I could have ever paid for. This is why I'm openly suggesting that @omoalhajaabiola and @skill_afrika_ should organize a Technical Writing Cohort too. I know a lot of seasoned technical writers and documentation engineers who will be willing to collaborate on the training program. I personally have benefited a lot from communities and pace-setters like @AdesinaAbdurah1 and @omoalhajaabiola via direct tutelage or access to resources. The best thing about technical writing is its multidisciplinary relevance. Even if you're not pursuing it as your primary career, the knowledge will benefit you in every field you find yourself in. I've seen software engineers, product designers, and even people in the legal field transition into or leverage technical writing in their areas of expertise. Dear @skill_afrika_ and @omoalhajaabiola; AI Automation freelancers have eaten enough for now; let us put more freelancers on the technical writing trajectory in H2 2026 and equip them with the industry-ready skillset needed to land competitive gigs and transform their careers. I'm available to provide hands-on support and liaise with relevant communities to see this proposed project through if my request is favorably considered. Thanks in anticipation. God bless you. P.S My pitch is still weak, maybe this is because I'm yet to take @omoalhajaabiola's cold mailing course.
