We have been learning about atoms using our FLIR thermal cameras! We have learned what atoms are, that they are always moving, that atoms can transfer thermal energy in several ways, and more! I will be posting some specific ways we have used these cameras soon! @MACUL@flir
Students have been investigating how frogs develop into adults. With our display of actual frogs we are able to see these real life changes through every stage of development. Students have also been using our digital microscopes to look at the details of each stage!
Students have been making “coins” that represent an important aspect of their lives. A little history, art, digital design, and creativity all rolled into one!
All of the plants are now in our Aeroponics system! We have a large variety of plants including Swiss Chard, Lettuce, Green Beans, Spinach, Mint, and Kale. Students have been collecting data and making observations on these plants. I can’t wait to see these grow for snacking!
We have lots of new things going on in the STEM room! In this center, students are able to learn about body systems by looking inside of the lungs, intestines, see a heart beat, and much more with AR. Many students say “eww gross” but somehow can’t seem to take their eyes off it!
We had a Tinkercad Challenge today to design and 3D print Christmas Trees (or other items of the students choice). We had some pretty cool designs, can’t wait to see what the other students come up with!
Great work Jaiden V. on creating this duck using Tinkercad! This was imagined, created, and improved upon within a 30 minute period! We then 3D printed his creation into this model!
Check out my weekend project! Thanks to an individual donation for this project, an idea I had for the classroom has become a reality! Using smart lightbulbs and Amazon’s Alexa, I can help to manage the classroom’s time by changing the color of the lights to signify transitions.
