Scotland as Britain: A medieval thread
Nationalists pretend Britain is an extension of England
Between the 1380s and 1520s, Scottish historians didn’t treat Britain as synonymous with England. They saw Scotland as Britain’s rightful heir, central, enduring, and legitimate.

QUESTION…
What English anthem will be sung when the England national football team play in this World Cup?
Will they have their OWN anthem like every other team..
or will they make a statement to say that England is Britain by singing a British anthem?
SNP and Greens operate as a coordinated pro‑independence bloc. The Greens deliberately avoid standing in constituencies, maximising list where it converts into seats far more efficiently. The result is a separatist vote that produces more seats per vote than any other Part 1/2

Scotch whisky tariffs to the US are gone. A major boost for Scotland’s biggest export: worth an estimated £240m a year in recovered trade and supporting thousands of jobs across rural communities. Who says the Royals don’t deliver value.

Treaty of Westminster-Ardtornish
A secret agreement was signed between Edward IV and John MacDonald II, Lord of the Isles.
They effectively planned to conquer and destroy Scotland and divide it between them.
For this treachery to Scotland, the Lordship was eventually stripped, ripping the heart out of autonomous Gaeldom and led to generation hatred on both sides.
Scottish nationalists deliberately overlook these events but they are a major reason for the decline of Gaelic.

Nationalist logic
When English elites participate in colonialism, it's the English state
When Scottish Elites participate in colonialism AKA Darien, it's just Scottish elites and a big boy made them do it
Rule no 1, always play the victim
Rule no 2, always blame England

Birth of William Carstairs
Presbyterian minister, he operated as a spy, a diplomat, and a statesman, the architect of the relationship between the Kirk and State that exists today.
Instrumental in the Glorious revolution and 1707 Union.
Carstares was the man behind The Act for Security. Persuading the Gov to guarantee the Presbyterian Church forever. Once passed, he used it to silence the radical clergy & quell the mobs. That's why they stopped in Nov 1706 months before the Union in may 1707.
