Finally got a response back from AO3 about the smut fanfic someone made about a REAL kid on there. They don't care. They allow it. Never ever tell me you care about real kids if you defend AO3 and their endorsement of the sexual harassment of underage celebs.

why are people acting it's 12 yo girls writing minor x adult romance and selling it to their peers as shojo manga? it's adult mangaka catering to the "taboo fantasies" of young girls, and a publishing industry run by adult men ultimately deciding which fantasies to play to
I understand why age gaps are so problematic obviously but you also have to view them as a form of fantasy that girls have, and that's reflected in shojo manga. Sometimes you wanna fantasize about the handsome, safe, older man.

While I’m generally never on the antis’ side, this is a take I’ve always agreed with.
I genuinely don’t think banning or at least heavily restricting RPF of real kids would lead to any sort of slippery slope thing.
This is why I refuse to ever donate to that site.
