FIFA is coming to Vancouver while the NDP can’t even handle the pressure already crushing the Lower Mainland with gridlock, overloaded hospitals, rising crime, and public safety concerns. Are they going to pull police from smaller B.C. communities just to cover the chaos during FIFA? When we raise these concerns in the Legislature, the NDP refuses to give clear answers because they know they are not prepared for what’s coming.

The Conservative opposition has been preoccupied with internal issues for the last year. It has rarely mentioned FIFA World Cup in Question Period. Only four QPs left in this session. #bcpoli

Today, I was asked to leave the chamber after calling out the Premier for remarks I believe were false and misleading regarding my record and the record of members of our caucus on LNG development in Northern B.C. For years, the Premier has attempted to claim that we do not support projects like LNG Canada, while at the same time trying to take credit for a project he actively opposed while in opposition. The people of the North remember who stood alongside our workers, local governments, Indigenous partners, and communities to fight for these opportunities when it mattered most. I am proud of my record. As a Kitimat city councillor, I worked hard alongside many others to help get Phase 1 of LNG Canada to final investment decision. That project has created jobs, opportunity, and long-term economic benefits for our region and for British Columbia. The credit belongs to the many people who put in the hard work over many years to make it happen. I will not sit quietly while the history of that work is rewritten for political convenience. When the people of Skeena elected me, I promised to be a loud, strong, and unapologetic voice for our communities. That means standing up for our workers, our industries, and the truth, even when it is uncomfortable. I will continue to do exactly that every single day, unapologetically.

Alberta and Ottawa want to build a pipeline that would create thousands of jobs and bring billions in investment to British Columbia. But David Eby and the NDP want to block it. Had a fantastic time walking in the 78th Annual Cloverdale Rodeo Parade yesterday! The sun was out, the candy was flowing, and it was great to see so many people come out and enjoy the day. A huge thank you to the parade organizers, the Surrey Police Service for helping maintain safety throughout the event, and the firefighters for the hot dogs. Events like this are what make our communities so special.

All the old guys I know who helped build the BC Conservative Party from the ground up are supporting Caroline Elliott, and that says a lot. I still remember when the BC Conservatives were in baby steps. I met people in Abbotsford with John Rustad and Harman Bhangu, and those were the people building this party when almost nobody believed in it. They stayed through the hard times and built this movement from the ground up. Now many of those same people are backing Caroline Elliott. That means everything . #bcpoli
