Canada is going through a rough patch right now. The US is better at hockey, the tariffs are taking a toll, high youth unemployment, in a technical recession, and now one of their former citizens owns American companies worth more than the GDP of their entire damn country. I made pastrami from a section of a pork loin "porkstrami." I have to say, the bark is good, the tenderness of the meat is good, but the pickling spice from the brine totally overpowers the meat. Would not make again.

Made pastrami out of a pork loin. Used an internet brine recipe and @meathead Katz's rub. Decent but the pickling spice is a bit much in the brine.

That game is a reminder of just how compelling the NBA can still be at its best. Watched it all at a packed bar in SF -- with people who weren't invested in either team -- living and dying on every possession.
The regular season needs a lot of work. The playoffs remain awesome.

DAMN! Georgia State Road & Tollway Authority hit me with a $30 fine for using the toll lane for less than a mile to get around an accident. WTF. You know, other States have this cutting edge technology called 'Pay by Plate.' You should look into it instead of charging extortionist fines.
