Ha! One of @TheGreenParty's pledges in Hackney was to stop fee increases for nurseries. They even showed up at our protest. Guess what just landed? More fee increases. Can you explain why you lied to parents @ZoeGarbett @ZackPolanski @hackneygreens @mayorofhackney ?

"OK, what the f**k do we do now. Healey's blown up our "Strong on the World Stage" strategy. Burnham's coming for us this weekend. How the hell do we reverse this?". "Er...I know!!!!! Let's announce we're gong to massacre a load of ponies on Dartmoor!!!!". "That's it!!!!"
This is total madness from another unaccountable quango. The government must overrule Natural England and stop it immediately. Keir Starmer is on his way to making his last acts in office the shameful underfunding of our military and the mass slaughter of Dartmoor ponies.

Cape Verde centre back Roberto 'Pico' Lopes has spent his entire career in Ireland, ignored a LinkedIn message from Cape Verde FA asking him to play for them because it was in Portuguese. A year later, they sent it in English. He accepted. An all-time great World Cup story.

If the world cup was won by the way the country's fans showed their support then another ball does not need to be kicked. Scotland has won hands down. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 #Scotland #WorldCup

All week Zack Polanski has been attacking Reform politicians for their so called “extreme” language. Here he is outright defending criminals who broke a female police officer’s back with a sledgehammer. He’s a dangerous extremist and I’m glad he is being exposed for what he is.
Gut wrenching to see four young people jailed for direct action against an arms supplier to Israel. Years in prison for protesting to save lives in Gaza, with 'terrorism' used despite no jury convicting them of it. A truly dangerous attack on the right to protest.

One hell of a letter in The Times today from General Sir Nick Carter, a former head of the armed forces He warns that Britain risks becoming ‘Belgium with nuclear weapons’ unless it spends more on defence ‘Successive governments have hollowed our armed forces out to such a degree that if we do not spend what is needed now to arrest that decline, and transform them for the modern world, we risk becoming Belgium with nuclear weapons. And our enemies are watching’ Times letters: Britain’s slide down the Nato league table thetimes.com/article/5c37102…

Bill Clinton: “I killed myself trying to give the Palestinians a state. I had a deal they turned down that would have given them all of Gaza and 97% of the West Bank. You name it. They turned it down.” The Palestinians never wanted peace. This must be shared every single day.

"It is an absurd priority to have." City AM’s Alys Denby argues why the estimated ten billion pound WASPI compensation package is the wrong move for taxpayers, suggesting the funds should go to defense instead. No! No! No! The British state has special powers to at least delay major works of national art being bought by overseas investors and leaving the country. @TrevorPTweets is a rare voice and sage in our culture - above party, allergic to groupthink, immersed in understanding and context, never personal. We can't afford to lose him. Close the airports. Take away his passport. Double his pay. DON'T GO TREVOR. i'm serious. We need you.

Case in point: the Prime Minister just said defence is "a number one priority". Growth was meant to the number one priority, is it still? There's not enough money for defence, but today the Government announced £4.5 BILLION for walking and cycling. Make choices. Decide. Lead.

As someone has pointed out to me, you’re unlikely to get a more favourable background to cut welfare and the triple lock than funding defence to keep the country safe.

John Healey has given this country serious service in a serious time. He took on the Ministry of Defence at a moment when the world was getting more dangerous, not less, and he carried that weight with the discipline and decency that the job demands. I worked alongside him closely. I saw the hours, the care, and the seriousness he brought to every brief, including the hardest ones. There are issues facing this Department that do not lend themselves to easy answers. The work on funding, on veterans, on Legacy, on the welfare of those who serve. The threats facing this country have not paused for a change of Secretary of State. Our Armed Forces remain on operations around the world, standing with our allies, protecting our interests, and keeping the British people safe. They deserve a Ministry of Defence that matches their seriousness with our own. That is the job. It continues today.
