The rollout of Tesla's FSD Supervised in the EU shows one thing pretty damn clearly: which countries care for their citizens and which don’t.
Let me explain.
After millions of kilometers of data and the full testing process by
@RDWnl, there is absolutely no reason not to immediately approve this technology Europe-wide.
During these tests and after approval of FSD in the Netherlands 🇳🇱, there was not a single accident, while how many people caused accidents in that same period?
Countries like Belgium and Denmark had concerns, checked the data, ran additional tests, and concluded that this is indeed safer for their citizens and will improve road safety.
In contrast, countries like Germany 🇩🇪 (
@BMV) and France 🇫🇷 have run FSD demos in every major city since 2025 and still pretend not to know if the system is safe. They ignore:
- Safety data from the US
- Safety data from the Netherlands
- RDW’s dossier and test results
- Additional tests by Belgian road authorities
- FSD demo data from within their cities
This isn’t just about FSD anymore. It shows that countries like Germany don’t care about you as a citizen. They know the demand, they have the data, yet they play for time to postpone approval and wait for “more” data from the EU.
As a German citizen, I see it now. I want to live in a country that acknowledges me and my workforce by making our country safer in every regard.
I’d much rather live in Denmark, which at first blocked FSD but honestly took the time, checked everything, and said let’s do it.
From another X user I read yesterday that he contacted
@PSchnieder on LinkedIn. Though it isn’t the best platform, their response was to tell him to use the ministry contact form and then block him.
To me, it shows they know about our need for this technology but seem annoyed instead of issuing a statement that they are working on approval. They forget that they are paid by us and are servants of the people.
So I’m starting to learn Danish, though it’s pretty difficult 😅, and plan to move in a few years. Denmark and the others have shown they care, and for me that is important.
