Sharing our story matters. This week, a group of Texas farmers traveled to the @CommonGroundNow Conference to connect with fellow farmer advocates from across the country. Through workshops, speaker sessions, and hands-on consumer engagement opportunities, they gained new tools to help answer questions and build trust around food and farming. Texas Corn Producers is proud to support CommonGround and the farmers who are helping give consumers an authentic, up-close look at modern agriculture. 🌽 Have you checked for corn leaf aphids lately? Populations have been increasing in Texas in recent years. While infestations rarely reach economic thresholds, heavy pressure can create problems, especially in stressed corn. 🔍 Learn what to watch for and how to assess risk with this field guide from Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Entomologist David Kerns: loom.ly/4km6eFg

The numbers don't add up for farmers. 📉 Since 2020, farm input costs have more than doubled, while farm income hasn't kept pace. That's why Texas Corn Producers is speaking out about the need for transparency and fair pricing in the fertilizer market. USMCA is critical to America’s corn farmers, and it’s up for renewal this July. The impact is clear: USMCA supports demand for 1.8 billion bushels of U.S. corn, helping preserve key export markets while creating new opportunities for growth. We’ve all been asking the same question: why is fertilizer so expensive? Persistent rising costs are driving our farmers out of business, and they’re raising your grocery bills, too. Together, farmers are working together to share their stories and take action. Watch to hear what they’re saying. Read more here: loom.ly/w2lE4eM

Farmers are fed up with the fertilizer industry's unchecked pricing power, and for good reason. This is an issue we've been working on for years, and this week marked an important step forward. We're proud to join major farm organizations from 18 states at FED UP, a conversation with the Chair of the @FTC, to deliver a unified message: while fertilizer companies post record profits, farmers continue to face mounting financial pressures and farm closures. It's time for greater transparency and accountability in the fertilizer industry. We appreciate the FTC for listening to farmers' concerns, and we're hopeful this conversation is the beginning of meaningful action to shine a light on pricing practices that have disadvantaged producers for far too long. In the latest corn leafhopper update, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension entomologist David Kerns says pressure remains fairly stable, with little movement beyond South Texas. Some stressed fields are seeing 5–6 leafhoppers per plant, but aggressive treatment has helped keep infestations isolated. Most Central Texas corn has tasseled and is largely out of the susceptible stage. Key takeaway for growers: keep scouting and watch for weather systems moving north from the south, especially if you have second-crop corn. Listen to the full update: loom.ly/tplp1ys

PASSED: Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2026.   This Farm Bill was not written in the halls of Congress, but in the fields and rural communities across our great nation. Every provision is a direct reflection of what we learned during each of the more than 150 listening sessions the Agriculture Committee held.   The 2026 Farm Bill is a win for our farmers, ranchers, foresters, rural communities, and all Americans across our country.
